NESDC (and our snow problem) was recently featured by on WGBH public radio. See A winter without snow isn’t so great when your winter sport is dog sledding to hear an interview with our club president.

Keith Bryar II

Keith Bryar and team

On February 20, 2016, the New England mushing community lost one of its brightest stars, Keith Bryar II. Keith was a fierce competitor, a tireless advocate for dog-sledding sports, and a generous mentor and friend.

He will be deeply missed by NESDC.

Tamworth Cancelled

Sadly we’ve also had to cancel this season’s race at Tamworth. Ice conditions are not safe and the forecast indicates warming temperatures. Let’s hope next winter is kinder to our racing season!

Westbrook Cancelled

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that our Westbrook race is officially cancelled for 2016. The groomer was out inspecting Westbrook race course today and there were already some bare spots. The forecast for the coming week includes rain and 40 to 50 degree temps, so, unfortunately Mother Nature has done in yet another race for this year. Many thanks to the groomers and folks at sunset ridge for trying to pull something off!

Westbrook Re-Rescheduled

We are very sorry to announce that we’ve had to rescheduled the Westbrook race yet again for lack of, well, winter. The new race dates are February 20th & 21st. Hopefully we’ll have cold temps and snow by then!
