Tamworth Sled & Skijor Race 2019

The Race
The Tamworth race is one of the longest running sprint races in the world (races have been held here since the 1930s!). It is also one of the most scenic, with competitors racing across Lake Chocorua and below Mt. Chocorua.
Race Details
We will be offering the following classes: One & two-dog skijor (4 miles), 4-dog (4 miles), 6-dog (5 miles), 8-dog (6 miles), unlimited (10 miles), three-dog junior (4 miles), one-dog junior, and a recreational course (2.5 miles). This race is ISDRA sanctioned.

11:30 Skijor (2-dog teams followed by 1-dog teams)
Noon to 1 pm: lunch break
12:15 pm 1-dog junior

Venue
The race is held on Lake Chocorua and on wooded trails adjacent to the lake. The Tamworth Outing Club will have a concession stand with food and hot beverages.
Lodging
The nearest hotels are the Econolodge Lakes Region (603-301-1426) and the Day’s Inn Tamworth, (603-323-9100). There are numerous inns North of the race site in North Conway, NH.

Directions
Take Rte. 16 North, through Ossipee, past White Lake State Park. The race starts on Lake Chocorua, which is on the left hand side of Rte. 16, in the shadow of Mt. Chocorua. Look for signs for the race. Parking is on a dirt road that runs between Rt. 16 and the Lake.
