Tamworth Sled & Skijor Race 2019
January 26 - January 27
The Tamworth race is one of the longest running sprint races in the world (the first race was held in 1937!). It is also one of the most scenic, with competitors racing across Lake Chocorua and below Mt. Chocorua.
We will be offering the following classes: One & two-dog skijor (4 miles), 4-dog (4 miles), 6-dog (6 miles), 8-dog (8 miles), unlimited (11 miles), three-dog junior (4 miles), and one-dog junior. This race is ISDRA sanctioned.
Registration is now open. Please note, online registration will close Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 8 am (not Thursday, Jan. 24, at 9 pm).
The race is held on Lake Chocorua and on wooded trails adjacent to the lake. The Tamworth Outing Club will have a concession stand with food and hot beverages.
The nearest hotels are the Econolodge Lakes Region (603-301-1426) and the Day’s Inn Tamworth, (603-323-9100). There are numerous inns North of the race site in North Conway, NH.
