NESDC (and our snow problem) was recently featured by on WGBH public radio. See A winter without snow isn’t so great when your winter sport is dog sledding to hear an interview with our club president.
On February 20, 2016, the New England mushing community lost one of its brightest stars, Keith Bryar II. Keith was a fierce competitor, a tireless advocate for dog-sledding sports, and a generous mentor and friend.
He will be deeply missed by NESDC.
Sadly we’ve also had to cancel this season’s race at Tamworth. Ice conditions are not safe and the forecast indicates warming temperatures. Let’s hope next winter is kinder to our racing season!
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that our Westbrook race is officially cancelled for 2016. The groomer was out inspecting Westbrook race course today and there were already some bare spots. The forecast for the coming week includes rain and 40 to 50 degree temps, so, unfortunately Mother Nature has done in yet another race for this year. Many thanks to the groomers and folks at sunset ridge for trying to pull something off!
